Donald Trump said that there would be "serious consequences" if Elon Musk finances Democratic candidates who will face off against Republicans who voted for the president's massive tax and spending cuts bill, BNR reported.
In a telephone interview with NBC News, Trump refused to say what these consequences would be and added that he had not discussed whether to investigate Musk.
The American president said that his relationship with the billionaire donor is over.
Shortly before the American president's threats to the tycoon, Elon Musk deleted earlier today his claims published this week on his social network X, linking Donald Trump to financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Musk published the post during his bitter public feud with Trump.
The "Epstein" case still contains unclassified documents that are believed to include the names of influential figures involved in a sex trafficking ring. Trump has previously denied being on Epstein's notorious island or on his planes, although his name has been linked to address books and flight manifests, which has been widely reported in the media.
Epstein died in prison in 2019, the official version being suicide. Not all documents related to the case, which are held by the US Department of Justice, have yet to be released.
