California Governor Gavin Newsom called Donald Trump a “dictator, not a president“. He formally asked the Trump administration to withdraw the National Guard. The White House says the troops will remain there until order is restored.
When asked if the National Guard was needed, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said: “This thing is getting out of hand“.
