The US government is not reviewing contracts concluded with Elon Musk's companies, despite the disagreements between him and US President Donald Trump.

This was announced at a regular briefing for journalists by White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt.

“As far as I know, no efforts have been made in this direction“, she said.

Leavitt did not specify whether Trump accepted Musk's apology or believes that good relations between the countries can no longer be restored.

"The president responded to the statement published by Elon. "He appreciates what was said there," the press secretary noted, without going into further details.

The richest man on the planet was until recently the coordinator of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and a special US civil servant who worked on a voluntary basis. He was part of Trump's inner circle. However, their relationship has begun to deteriorate in recent weeks for a number of reasons, including those related to Musk's business interests.

After Musk left government service, the two have had a spectacular public spat on social media.

Musk said that without his support, the current head of the US administration would not have won the November 2024 elections, supported the idea of a new attempt to impeach Trump, criticized the key government spending bill developed at the initiative of the White House and the import tariffs imposed by the president, and predicted a recession for the US economy.

Trump, in turn, called Musk crazy and emphasized that he had stopped fulfilling his duties conscientiously while leading the work of DOGE. The president has threatened to terminate government contracts with Musk's companies, including SpaceX.

According to The Washington Post, the U.S. government has signed contracts worth about $38 billion with Musk's business empire in recent years.

On June 11, Musk said he regretted his harsh remarks about Trump. According to The New York Times, Trump and Musk had a phone conversation before Musk published the statement in X.
