The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) calls on Bulgarian citizens located in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately leave the country. This message was published on the official website of the department in connection with the escalation of tension in the region, BTA reports.
For those who are forced to remain in Iran, the MFA recommends strict compliance with the security instructions issued by local authorities. Bulgarians should regularly inform themselves about the situation, avoid areas with military facilities and places where events with large numbers of people are held.
The Ministry advises our compatriots to report their location and planned duration of stay as soon as possible to the indicated telephone numbers and email address of the Consular Service in Tehran: [email protected].

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Bulgarian citizens traveling or residing temporarily or permanently abroad register in the "I am traveling for…“ on the ministry's website.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Bulgarians in the Middle East - in particular in Iraq, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia - to monitor the situation and follow local instructions.
In recent hours, Iran has launched over 100 drones towards Israel, but the Israeli army and air defense systems are working to neutralize them, Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin announced, quoted by DPA. Earlier today, Israel announced that it had launched a massive air attack against Iran, targeting sites related to the Iranian nuclear program.
