China strongly condemns the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. This was stated by China's permanent representative to the UN Fu Kong to journalists.

"China strongly condemns the US military attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, which, I would like to emphasize, are protected by the IAEA. We believe that this is a gross violation of the UN Charter and international law. Iran has suffered, but the authority of the United States as a country and as a participant in any international negotiations has also suffered,“ he said.

Fu Kong called on the UN Security Council to support the draft resolution of China, Russia and Pakistan on the situation around Iran.

"Russia, China and Pakistan proposed a draft resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, protection of civilians, respect for international law and participation in dialogue and negotiations. "We hope that the members of the Security Council will demonstrate a responsible approach by supporting the draft resolution, which will allow the UN Security Council to fulfill its obligations," he said at an emergency meeting of the Security Council convened in connection with the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Fu Kong expressed confidence that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved by force and that the issue of the Iranian nuclear program can still be resolved through diplomatic means.

"Peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved by the use of force. Dialogue and negotiations are the basis for a way out of the current situation. Diplomatic methods to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue have not yet been exhausted and there is still hope for a peaceful solution," he said.

"We call on the Security Council to take swift action. "The Security Council has the primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security and cannot stand idly by in the face of a major crisis," he said.
