President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Denmark on assuming the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union and expressed hope that important strategic decisions will be made in the next six months, BTA reports.
In a message published on the social network “Ex“, quoted by the Ukrinform agency, the Ukrainian head of state said:
“I congratulate Denmark on assuming the presidency of the Council of the EU and express hope that the next six months will be a period of important decisions. Ukraine fulfills all the requirements within the framework of the negotiation process for accession to the EU. This year - and precisely during the Danish Presidency - we will be ready to open all negotiation chapters.“
Zelensky also expressed special gratitude to Copenhagen for its consistent support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression, emphasizing Denmark's role as a strong and positive leader in strengthening security in Europe.
