American journalist Tucker Carlson, who recently publicly clashed with US President Donald Trump over his policy toward Tehran, announced on Saturday on the social network X that he conducted the interview with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

„There are many questions that I did not ask the President of Iran, such as „Was your nuclear program completely disabled by the US government bombing a week and a half ago?“. There is no way he will answer that question. Honestly, I did not ask it. "The answer, from an American perspective, even from the CIA perspective, is unknown," Carlson said in the interview announcement.

The interview with Pezeshkian will be published in the coming days, the journalist added, noting that he has also resubmitted an interview request to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“American citizens have a constitutional right and a God-given right to all the information they can obtain on matters that affect them. If their country is doing something with their money on their behalf, they have a right, an absolute right, to know as much as they can about it, and that would include hearing from the people they are fighting against," Carlson said.

A few days ago, Trump criticized him after the journalist said that a war with Iran could lead to the collapse of US global influence and an early end to the current president's presidency.

In a podcast with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, Carlson expressed the opinion that the US military is not ready for a large-scale conflict and that a military adventure would permanently undermine the country's position on the world stage. Trump later said that Carlson had apologized to him for his criticism of the administration's policy towards Iran and called him a "good guy" - just a day after Trump called him “crazy“.
