A third consecutive hearing in the "Siyana" case. It was accompanied by a protest in front of the Courthouse in Pleven demanding a quick and fair trial.
Shortly before the start of the trial, the protesters briefly blocked the main boulevard in front of the court building.
Among them were relatives of Marty and Hristina, who were swept away by an ATV in "Sunny Beach", who is no longer alive.
A defendant in the "Siyana" case is a 65-year-old driver who swept away the car with the little girl with his truck trailer.
Today, the questioning of witnesses continued, and Siyana's father - Nikolay Popov, announced that he had again witnessed reckless driving on the fatal road.
“Over 100 km/h, no reaction from the police, the police were buying buns, the others were sitting in the car“, said Popov.
According to the father, however, the voted increase by 10 km, from 70 to 80 km/h, of the permitted speed for trucks on the country's roads should be dropped.
“This road, and it is one of many in Bulgaria, with its dimensions and condition, cannot handle 80 km/h, so this is madness that must be corrected. This is a proposal of the official cabinet, the deputies slept through it and voted for it. I think there is interference from the transport lobby here“, said Popov.
According to the information requested through the Ministry of Interior by Siyana's father, there has not been a single accident with a similar mechanism in the section where the child died.
But the guilty driver knew the route and was still speeding.
“When you see such a broken road, you are obliged to comply, and he did exactly the opposite“, said Siyana's father.
Currently, the first-class section between Telish and Radomirtsi is being thoroughly repaired.
