Accused of taking a bribe from drivers of trucks carrying equipment for the Robbie Williams concert in our country are Georgi Georgiev and Boris Borisov. They are clients of attorney Emanuil Yordanov, who is also a former interior minister.
"The presumption of innocence should apply in Bulgaria. In practice, my clients have already been convicted in the public sphere," claims attorney Emanuil Yordanov in "This Morning".
According to him, there is very scant evidence here - the statements of the drivers. The report was filed by the manager of the commercial company that organized the concert, and it is unclear why in one of his rulings the prosecutor in the case wrote that this person was an eyewitness, while he was not an eyewitness to anything.
“We all have to apologize to the foreign drivers who were blackmailed in an extremely ugly way“, he said.
The traffic police officers deny what they are accused of. "We have no evidence, but we are waiting for them to collect it", the lawyer commented.
On Sunday, the drivers were questioned in the building of the former specialized court. "Then I tried to ask them what the problem was and what violation they had committed so that a bribe could be demanded of them. All three claimed that they had not committed any violations", the lawyer claims. Yordanov.
I am not inclined to comment on the question of why the trucks were stopped. After receiving information, the lawyer requested on Sunday that these three drivers be given medical examinations to determine whether any of them had used drugs. "One in particular was seriously inadequate", the lawyer claims.
The lawyer claims that the DAI employees, his clients, did not take money from the drivers.
