Zhelyazkov: There are names for a special manager of Lukoil that we are already discussing

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced that names for a special manager of “Lukoil“ are already being discussed.

"As provided for in the law, this will be an individual or individuals who will be selected after verification and analysis. There are names that we are discussing, we will announce them after the law comes into force," he said.

According to him, Bulgaria will ensure compliance with the sanctions in view of their main goal - that not a single cent should go to the war in Ukraine. "The law adopted on Friday is an answer to this question of what the legal framework for implementing this policy will be. When the law comes into force, then all actions will be activated," said the Prime Minister.

In connection with the inspections of the State Security Service at "Lukoil", Zhelyazkov recalled that even before the imposition of sanctions, there had been incidents at refineries in Europe. He stressed that these actions were preventive and had no other nature.

The Prime Minister once again stated that there was enough fuel in the country and speculations should be dispelled.

Regarding the budget procedure, he stated that it could not be blocked. "This is an autonomous right of the government and the National Assembly, and the tripartite dialogue is a form of coordination and a procedure that does not limit the government, but is important for achieving the social interests of everyone in the country", said Zhelyazkov and added that the necessary balance must be found, because this budget must respond to the fears of society.

The Prime Minister categorically stated that there is no danger of entering a debt spiral, as long as the debt is around 30%, there is no such danger. "We will never allow ourselves to get to such a thing", he said.

Rosen Zhelyazkov stated that the "dividend" tax does not change the tax structure and does not represent an increase in taxes.
