Negotiations for Budget 2026: There will be no second meeting between employers and the authorities

“It would be logical if the SSU wants to develop a balanced position, to listen to us as well. We do not have such an invitation. I do not know if there will be a tripartite meeting on Thursday. I suggested to Plamen Dimitrov that if the authorities are only interested in what the employers think, this time we should not go,” explained the president of the Podkrepa Confederation of Employers Dimitar Manolov.

There will be no meeting between employers and representatives of the Joint Management Council (SSU). This was stated by Rumen Radev from the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, Nova TV reports. Expectations for talks in this format appeared after the blockage of the Tripartite Council last week.

The employers have not decided whether they will participate in the next meeting of the social partners, which is planned for Thursday, because they do not expect any change in the draft budget. The "Podkrepa" trade union is also considering not appearing at the tripartite council, said the president of the union, Dimitar Manolov.

“I emphasize - we have no invitation to a meeting with the Bulgarian Confederation of Employers. There will not be one - it is not planned. We have a meeting of the employers' organizations ahead of us to discuss further actions”, commented the chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Confederation of Employers' Associations, Rumen Radev.

“It would be logical if the Bulgarian Confederation of Employers wants to develop a balanced position, to listen to us as well. We do not have such an invitation. I do not know if there will be a tripartite meeting on Thursday. I suggested to Plamen Dimitrov that if the authorities are only interested in what the employers think, this time we should not go”, explained Dimitar Manolov.

Last week it became clear that the employers' organizations would be invited to a meeting of the Joint Management Council, at which the demands of the business would be discussed.

Employers are not satisfied with the increase in dividend tax, the maximum social security threshold and the increase in pension contributions by two percentage points. Last week they refused to participate in a meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation, which blocked the budget procedure. And on the air of NOVA, unions also demanded to be invited to the coalition meeting on Tuesday.
