120 leva Christmas supplements will be provided to just over half a million pensioners, the Joint Management Council decided, BNT reports.
"We discussed the possibilities of the DOO budget to provide supplements to pensioners for Christmas. We jointly decided to allocate 120 leva to 536,000 pensioners who receive pensions below the poverty line, which is 638 leva," announced GERB MP Denitsa Sacheva.
64 million leva will cost the state to allocate the Christmas supplements.
"We have not given up on having a systemic solution, but this issue requires time. Christmas supplements are something that the poorest people in Bulgaria deserve," Sacheva also said.
