People in Vidin region went on a protest. The reason - heavy truck traffic passing through the village of Drenovets. The trucks traveling to and from "Danube Bridge 2" pass meters from people's homes. The demonstration is peaceful, but the villagers decided to block the road by crossing the pedestrian path. Within minutes, a huge queue of trucks had formed, Nova TV reported.

What the protesters are demanding is more video surveillance, speed limits and traffic control through the settlement, as well as, if possible, redirecting heavy goods vehicle traffic outside the village.

“I can't sleep because the traffic starts at 3 a.m. – without a speed limit. A truck hit a tree in the yard of my house. There is a school, but there is no speed limit," said a village resident.

"About a week ago there was an accident in the village, where a person was hit by a truck," said a protester.

And another added: "The road surface is relatively new, but after the heavy traffic passes, it breaks and cracks".

People claim that the houses of everyone who is on the front line in the village are also cracking. "Absolutely all the houses are cracked. Someone from the institutions should come and see what the road from Ruzhintsi to Drenovets is like - it has become like a field", said a protester.
