He is known as the host of the most popular TV quiz game “Get Rich“, but off the TV screen Niki Kanchev is also one of the most active public voices in support of children in Bulgaria. He is among the long-standing ambassadors and supporters of UNICEF and the driving force behind hundreds of campaigns to help children in need.

During the special edition of “120 Minutes“, dedicated to UNICEF's causes, Kanchev emphasized that commitments, work and publicity do not exempt anyone from the responsibility of being a human being.

“We all carry the same backpack – full of work, family, responsibilities. But this should not take away the most important thing – that we are people, that we are Bulgarians and that we must help those who are not so lucky“, he said.

Niki Kanchev paid special attention to the daily struggle of families with children with special needs. In his words, for many mothers in Bulgaria “the war is not somewhere far away“, but is fought every day – in the care of children with autism, cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

“Every day is survival. These children cannot be left alone. The state must become more and more socially stable. A lot is being done, but more and more needs to be done – especially as people”, he emphasized.

Kanchev also expressed his belief that Bulgaria has the potential to be a good place to live if society builds on it with more solidarity and love. He recalled the initiatives of bTV “Together for the Children of Bulgaria“ and the “Golden League“ of “Get Rich“, which showed the viewers how smart and talented children there are in the country.

“We cannot rely only on the new generations. We must also do our job“, he also said.

At the end of the conversation, Niki Kanchev shared with a smile that he receives correct messages from UNICEF with the opportunity to stop his donation, but these are “the best messages that he never responds to“.

“Charity is not something festive. It is everyday“, he summarized.
