Anton Kutev: Mass replacement of personnel in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system is not a solution

When we talk about elections, let us be aware that even the caretaker government has little to do with the elections. According to the Constitution, the elections are taken care of by independent bodies, such as the CEC, Kutev also commented

"The caretaker cabinet got off to a bad start, with a false start. Which is not good for either the caretaker cabinet or the citizens. But it can still reverse the trend. Hopefully, from now on, the actions will be more meaningful.“
He said this in “The Day Begins“ on BNT Anton Kutev, former spokesman for the caretaker governments of Rumen Radev on the occasion of the launch of the caretaker cabinet “Gyurov“.

According to Kutev, the actions are expected to be meaningful and he pointed to the request for Sarafov's replacement.

According to Kutev, so far the assessment of the caretaker cabinet is more of an image issue, since the government has not really had time to take specific actions.

He stressed that the focus around the upcoming elections should be on the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Of course, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is in focus, because that is where the foundation comes from. The government's job is to stop criminal vote buying. When we talk about elections, let's be clear that even the caretaker government has little to do with the elections. According to the Constitution, independent bodies, such as the Central Election Commission, take care of the elections. The government must do those general, parallel things that concern the elections - to ensure order, to stop criminal vote buying, to stop the electoral mafia."

According to him, a mass replacement of personnel in the Ministry of Interior system is not a solution.

„I do not believe that everyone in the system is rotten“, he commented.

Regarding the judicial system, Kutev is categorical that a general agreement must be sought on how to change the system and make it work.

He emphasized that the previous ideas for judicial reform have not yielded workable solutions.

Kutev predicts serious public support for Rumen Radev's future political project.

„We have the opportunity for real change in Bulgaria thanks to Radev's participation in politics.“

However, he stressed that success depends on both the voters and Radev himself and his team. According to him, a politician needs three different qualities - to win elections, form a government and govern successfully. We have not seen the third quality for a long time.

According to Kutev, future coalition formulas will depend entirely on the results of the elections.
