They dyed Easter eggs from over 40 species of birds

This happened at the Burgas Zoo

The first dyed egg is traditionally red, and this year the largest was chosen for this purpose - from an African ostrich. It weighs about 1,200 kg. The second largest, which was dyed, is from a swan. For comparison, the zookeepers also showed one of the smallest eggs in the collection - from a California quail, which weighs no more than 15 grams. It was specified that these eggs are not intended for human consumption, as they have not been hatched or have remained unfertilized, writes Nova TV.

In addition to the standard single-color and saturated shades, more modern techniques were also applied this year. “We have also put colorful eggs, where each egg is colored in different colors, plus additional materials such as brocade and mother-of-pearl”, the zoo explained on the air of “Wake Up”. The technique of painting by wrapping it in a napkin was also demonstrated to achieve a colorful range of colors on one egg.

Tradition stipulates that on Sunday at 12:00, the painted eggs will be distributed to the inhabitants of the zoo. They will be provided to predators and other animals that consume eggs in their usual menu. During the preparation process, the alpacas in the zoo also showed curiosity about the painted eggs.
