The candidate for MP from "Progressive Bulgaria" Anton Kutev commented on the final rights of the election campaign, the lack of leadership debates and the main priorities of the formation. "It is tiring. However, I hope that in the end it will be useful for the citizens," said Kutev on the air of the program "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS and added that the current political process lacks a real debate between the leaders. According to him, in this case it is not even possible, and political figures have already shown their positions clearly enough over the years.

Kutev emphasized the need for profound changes in the judicial system and the prosecutor's office. According to him, the replacement of the Prosecutor General is key, as the unblocking of a number of delayed cases and the limitation of the possibility of pressure through the institutions depends on it.

“If the Prosecutor General does his job, he will change the country in a week“, said the candidate-MP, emphasizing that some of the cases are being held up intentionally and this creates systemic problems in the justice system. He added that his formation would support both legislative changes and institutional actions, including through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the services, if necessary.

Regarding possible arrests in the course of such reforms, Kutev specified that no preliminary suggestions should be made, but the unraveling of the accumulated cases cannot go without serious consequences.

He defended the position of “Progressive Bulgaria“ on combating oligarchic models. "We do not want to replace one oligarchy with another, but to dismantle the system itself," Kutev said, emphasizing that this includes both political and economic dependencies.

Kutev commented on the war in Ukraine, re-emphasizing the importance of diplomacy. According to him, the conflict cannot be resolved militarily and a "real diplomatic process based on the search for common interests" is needed.

The candidate expressed confidence in the outcome of the upcoming vote. "I am convinced that we will win and form a government," he said.
