The “Glavchev” office changed Tariff No. 4 for the fees collected in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the Law on State Fees. It affects the issuance of personal documents. The increase in price is motivated by the need to introduce new models of personal documents, the press center of the Council of Ministers reported, quoted by Nova TV.

According to the methodology, the new prices for a simple service for issuing Bulgarian personal documents are as follows:

- identity card - BGN 30 – now it is between BGN 2 and 18 depending on the age.

- residence card - BGN 40;

- residence permit - BGN 40

It is proposed to keep the fee of BGN 18 for an ordinary service for the new ID card until the end of 2024, and to issue the ID card document with the new fees from January 1, 2025.

At the same time, the fee for the residence permit for a long-term resident, a long-term resident and a foreigner permanently residing in the Republic of Bulgaria is reduced - from BGN 45 to BGN 40. The reduction starts from June 17, 2024.

Fees will be due against the provision of a service and are determined with a view to the costs of providing that particular service, and not as a matter of principle and regardless of the nature of the service, they are motivated by the government press office.

There will no longer be permanent ID cards. Instead, people aged 18 to 70 will be issued an ID card with a 10-year validity. For people over 70, the identity card will be valid for 30 years.

The change retains some of the fees:

1. For the first issuance of an identity card to persons aged 14 to 16, the preference for free issuance is preserved for all three types of ordinary, fast and express service;

2. For issuing the next ID card to persons between 14 and 16 years of age and for each ID card to persons between 16 and 18 years of age, the preferential fee is BGN 21;

3. For the issuance of an identity card to persons who have reached the age of 70, the preference for free issuance is preserved for all three types of ordinary, fast and express service;

4. For issuing an identity card to persons aged 18 to 58, the fee is BGN 30;

5. A preferential fee of BGN 3 is reserved for issuing an identity card to persons with permanently reduced working capacity or the type and degree of disability of 50 and over 50 percent;

6. A preferential fee of BGN 3 is provided for the issuance of an identity card to persons whose biometric data cannot be taken due to temporary physical incapacity (plastering, burns, etc.)

The amount of the fee for a residence card for family members of EU citizens, for family members of citizens of countries - parties to the EEA Agreement, for citizens of the Swiss Confederation who are not citizens of the EU, EEA and Confederation Switzerland, is BGN 30 for a regular service. For quick issuance of the specified document, the fee is paid with an increase of two times when, at the request of the person, the service is performed within 3 working days.

The amount of the fee for issuing a residence permit to a foreigner is BGN 40

With the cancellation of a control coupon, the fee for its issuance is also canceled.
