„We did not betray you, we did not sell ourselves, we did not trade the party for our personal interest. We remained the only alternative to what has been happening in Bulgaria for the last 15 years. We remained the only alternative to the parallel state, to the backstage, to assemblies. And whatever that cost us, because it cost us a lot – we didn't stop. And we will continue. We will not betray you, and we will not sell out, because we have an ideal. We have an ideal of a dignified Bulgaria in a peaceful Europe".
This was stated by the leader of the BSP, Cornelia Ninova, in front of the crowded hall of the “Arena Shumen”, which gathered the candidates of the “BSP for Bulgaria” for the European and Bulgarian parliament, socialists, sympathizers, people from Shumen. Together with them was the mayor of Shumen Prof. Hristo Hristov, who convincingly won the trust of the people of the city in the local elections, the party's press center reports.
„Allow me a brief report, because it is good when a parliament goes – to say what he has done when another comes – to say what will end”, Cornelia Ninova turned to the people and indicated:
„Free kindergartens and nurseries – promised by BSP. Fulfilled. Promised free textbooks for all children – fulfilled. Increased maternity for the second year – done. Young families with children to pay less tax on wages – fulfilled. Workers to receive vouchers of 200 BGN for food – done. Minimum wage 50% of the average – it's already a fact. Pensions increased by 30%, and not just by Swiss rule – done. This is from the BSP for the Bulgarian people in the hardest 7 months of our rule, when the war in Ukraine started, when the economy had not recovered from the COVID crisis, when the energy crisis hit us,” said the leader of the Bulgarian socialists.
The hall supported her words: „Thanks to the BSP, in just 7 months, 22 billion BGN reached each and every family – from the baby to the adult, because we are the social party. Our first concern, our face, our heart is the care of people. And therefore, now we can go to them calm and dignified, and tell them: we want to continue on this path”, said Ninova and emphasized:
„We want to continue to have free medicines for children, we want to continue to have young people up to 26 pay no tax on wages. We want to finally recalculate pensions. We want hospitals not to be commercial companies, money not to follow the student as a number, but to follow the quality. We want the Bulgarian land to feed the Bulgarian people. We don't want 80% of what we eat to be from outside anymore, we don't want genetically modified organisms. We want a healthy and educated nation that has jobs and high incomes," declared BSP leader Kornelia Ninova, who was wildly applauded by the people.
She urged: “Today, against the right-wing slogan of militarization, let us raise our – for the re-industrialization of Europe and Bulgaria. Because, without economy, without industry, there can be nothing else. In just 7 months of our management, we brought Bulgaria to first place in industrial production in Europe – something that has never happened since we have been a member of the EU. Now we are on the 19th”, pointed out Ninova and added:
„This is our contribution to a stable Bulgaria, to a secure Bulgaria, to a decent life for the people. And we want to continue on this path. Because, with all this, we have protected the rarest and most expensive quality in politics – morality in politics. Everything is achieved, but if you lose morals in politics, as well as in life – you are nobody We protected morality by not meeting with anyone, not agreeing on monasteries, not going to offices to sit on the laps of this and that and pray for posts and money. But we also defended morality because, as we said – this we fulfilled. This is the Bulgarian Socialist Party – this is all of you”, addressed the people in the crowded hall of the “Arena Shumen” the leader of the socialists.
„They will hug again – they were together, now they are allegedly fighting, but from now on they say that they will hug again. They are not an alternative to each other," said Ninova about GERB, PP, DB and DPS. And she was categorical: "We are the only alternative. It is time for people to realize it, but this is done with conversations, with attention, with personal contact, to look him in the eyes, shake his hand, tell him – I am by your side and I will not betray you, and I will work for you, and I will fight for you so that you can live with dignity.
Ninova addressed the socialists, sympathizers, left-wing people who came to the “Arena Shumen”: “Be our army, be our circulatory system in these last 10 days that are left, let us raise the people – for themselves to fight, for their lives, for their families, not for us. To fight for themselves, because we have to win back our country from the mafia.
In her words, the biggest problem is the parallel state, the backstage and the hidden deals that take away Bulgaria's energy and people's money. Which go into private pockets and which then come back again in the form of new and new assemblies and deals. “We have to get out of this vicious circle and we BSP can get Bulgaria out of this vicious circle, you, us , each one of us. I believe in you”, urged Cornelia Ninova.
„We must fight for peace – because today the choice is war or peace. Today the choice is with or against the mafia. And we, the Bulgarian socialists, say: We are for the dignity of the Bulgarian people, for a peaceful Europe and a peaceful Bulgaria, against the mafia, for a dignified life for everyone in Bulgaria," said the BSP leader.
„On June 9, vote with number 24 in the European Parliament elections, because Bulgaria deserves and needs to be represented in the EP by prepared people who will protect the national interest. I am proud to be part of the list of prepared, smart and intelligent people who understand well what is the Bulgarian interest and are not afraid or ashamed to defend it. Our representatives do not go to the EP to agree forever like some others, our representatives go to change the EU – for him to be as he was created – because the European peoples united in order to be stronger together, to defend their problems together and better, said the leader of the Eurolist of the BSP for Bulgaria. Christian Vigenin after the presentation of the Socialist team, raised for Brussels.
Vigenin pointed out the danger facing Europe today: “The European right is talking about the militarization of the EU, about passing the economy on military tracks, about more and more weapons against Russia, more and more money for Ukraine – for Europeans to buy American weapons. This is not the EU we want and which will be of the people and for the people. We want a European Union that works for peace - we don't want to fight foreign wars, we don't want our sons to die for some foreign interests on foreign battlefields fields. The parties of the assembly - GERB, PP, DB, do not see or pretend not to see the threat that is hanging over us. But the representatives of the BSP will spare no effort to spare Bulgaria from the looming large-scale war, said the leader of the Eurolist of the BSP for Bulgaria.
„The election on June 9 is a choice between peace and war”, the leader of the “BSP for Bulgaria” in Shumen and Varna Borislav Gutsanov. “We are half a step away from the world being involved in a military conflict and we cannot be calm that these decisions were made in Bulgaria. Very quickly, some forgot what happened 80 years ago and how the world was drawn into World War II. They very quickly forgot that over 60 million were killed. Is this what we want today?” Gutsanov asked and added categorically: „BSP we have always been for peace, for peaceful negotiations, for a peaceful resolution of every single conflict. And not giving weapons”.
