The crisis with the recruitment of third-country workers for seasonal work at sea continues. Some of the hotels this summer are opening later due to a lack of staff. The reason is a delay in issuing visas to hired employees. The problems arise from the lack of synchronization between the various institutions in the state.

„I was an optimist, but months ago we told the Acting Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lacked administrative capacity. I expected 40% of the workers from third countries to arrive on June 1st. Some of them have visas, others – no. Release continues to be delayed. We will start work on time, we will make efforts. But we cannot work as we should in order to offer tourists a quality service, commented on the air of "Hello, Bulgaria" the vice-president of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association Veselin Nalbantov.

The vice-president of the association believes that the lack of labor comes from the fact that nearly one and a half million Bulgarians do not want to work. However, according to Nalbantov, “tourism in Bulgaria is one of the few industries that functions well”.
