Alexander Marinov: The division at the top of the DPS is deepening

A cabinet with the second term will be a success for Peevski, political scientist Georgi Prodanov believes

A hot political week has passed, even more eventful days await us. A parliamentary group broke up - "Greatness", whether this will also happen in the DPS - we will probably find out very soon. The division in the Movement continues, after the meeting in “Rosenets” Peevski appealed to Dogan for unity.

The political scientist Georgi Prodanov and the former advisor to the president Alexander Marinov spoke to Euronews Bulgaria about these topics.

"On the surface, we see a series of conciliatory gestures (in DPS) – no one wants to be the bearer of discord. But in the upper echelon of the DPS, the division continues and deepens. The problem is that the collective bodies are not functioning. But DPS is a more special party – in it we will not see those performances that we see in other parties", Marinov declared.

"I don't know if the people want a government, but Delyan Peevski wants – here and now. There is certainly a connection between the attempt to implement the second mandate and the state of the DPS. If he manages to form some kind of government – even the absolute minority – this will give a different reading to the controversy between him and Ahmed Dogan. But if he returns the second term, he ends his dispute with Dogan," said Prodanov
