Ivaylo Mirchev: We are getting closer to a presidential republic

People don't come out to vote to have new elections, but because they recognize the programs of the political parties

Every time we go to new elections, we get closer to a presidential republic . “Yes, Bulgaria” will investigate the possibility of whether there is a strong enough anti-corruption desire among the other parties, so that we can start with about 10 priority points and with them go towards a request for the third mandate. This is stronger than PP-DB asking for the third mandate.

This was stated in “Face to face” on bTV the MP from Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) Ivaylo Mirchev.

The first step should be a declaration within the National Assembly, whether it is possible for political forces to unite around the priorities that we will propose. It is clear to us that the chance of this happening is not high. If we want more from Radev's caretaker governments from the path of Koprinka, from all the corruption scandals and the isolation of our international partners, we will go to the elections now. Every time we go to a new election, we get closer to a presidential republic. If someone thinks that this is some kind of panacea, they are very wrong. Whenever power in Bulgaria is concentrated in one person, the result is bad, and this was seen with the interim governments of Radev, Mirchev summarized.

People do not come out to vote for new elections, but because they recognize in the programs of the political parties something that they want to happen to them, something important for their future. No one votes so that in months we will be at elections again. We spent millions on elections. We will now go to the elections in September for the seventh time, the politician emphasized.

We are extremely consistent over time and have not deviated from our principles and what we promised the people in the elections. We've had tough decisions that we haven't communicated properly, but we haven't wavered from our principles. We are doing Topva right now. We are not saying that there must necessarily be a government with the third mandate. We want to check if there really is a will for anti-corruption reform, assured Ivaylo Mirchev.

What did Borisov announce after the elections – the prime minister will be from GERB and the ministers will be from GERB. We wanted to hear from Borisov about the package of reforms that we had proposed to GERB, he recalled.

The rotation failed because Peevski and Borisov did not agree to replace the regulators, to pave Bulgaria's path to Schengen and the Eurozone, to complete the judicial reform, to elect a new SJC and High Prosecution Council and a new Law on the Judiciary. They did not agree, because this is how Peevski loses his power in the judicial system and the services, that's why we went to elections. If we had agreed to share the regulators by 1/3, we would be lying to the people, he explained.

„Yes, Bulgaria” stands honestly before the people and says: “This is our agreement from February. We want to see if there are parties that agree with the points in it. Is there a chance after six elections, to try to save things, and not to go to elections for the seventh time,”, the politician emphasized.
