Bozhidar Bojanov on the declaration of the PP-DB: In this parliament, 160 votes are not easily found

We are looking for broad support, the politician pointed out

The basis of the political crisis we are in is the lack of reforms in the prosecutor's office, services etc. The successful voting of all these laws and decisions is a prerequisite for starting government talks. At this stage, we can't just drop everything and say “whatever – either, we make a government“.

This was stated by the deputy chairman of the PG of “We continue the change”-“Democratic Bulgaria” Bozhidar Bojanov on the air of BNT.

In his words, if the proposed declaration is not voted on or the process of this anti-corruption reform is sabotaged, PP-DB have announced to President Rumen Radev that they will return the unfulfilled mandate.

He specified that in the declaration they propose periodic tests of integrity and loyalty in the services, “so that we can rest assured that the services are staffed by people who work first for the interests of the country.“

„We are looking for broad support. In this parliament, 160 votes are not easily found. We are not talking about a coalition with any party. We start from afar, so that the citizens have confidence that these 160 believe in these reforms, he added.

„If someone has additional measures to get out of the political crisis, we are open to include them. If someone wants to edit specific texts, we will discuss them. For us, these are the measures to remove the prerequisites for this political crisis. We politicians should not indicate who should be removed from parliament, who is corrupt. That's the prosecutor's job. I don't know how many politicians are corrupt in the 50th NA, I shouldn't give that answer. The goal of all these reforms is for the prosecutor's office to enter this role, and for us to get out of it, and to point out with evidence who are corrupt, Bojanov also said.
