“As Chairman of the Board of API I want to express my position and that of the agency in connection with the meeting held on 16.08.2024 with Mr. Kiril Petkov. First of all, I categorically object to the attempts of ALL-KNOWN, but actually NOT UNDERSTANDING ANYTHING politicians to suggest that the work of the “Road Infrastructure” is driven by their campaign schedule. As the chairman of the Management Board of the "Road Administration" Agency I will not allow the state road administration to be chewing gum in the parties' election campaign.
This is stated in an official position of the Chairman of the Board of API Eng. Yordan Valchev, sent to the media. It comes after a meeting between Engineer Valchev and Kiril Petkov.
Behind every road project is the work of many highly qualified experts and the co-chairman of the PP, Mr. Kiril Petkov, DESPITE HIS EXCEPTIONAL COMPETENCE, is not among them, the API position also states.
The meeting was at his insistence, and at it he received information about certain projects, to the implementation of which he had no contribution.
We will not allow the efforts of the road administration to be belittled. The implementation of the objects is started when there is technical readiness and financial security, and not when one or another politician decides to make PR on the back of the Agency, WITHOUT EVEN BEING AWARE OF THEIR LOCATION.
In view of the upcoming election campaign, we declare that API will not allow itself to be drawn into it.
