After a conversation with the Minister of Internal Affairs Atanas Ilkov, the head of Burgas Police Emil Pavlov himself submitted an application for reassignment.
He himself commented on this first to NOVA after yesterday's casting. “I believe that the Minister of the Interior should have the freedom and personal choice with whom to work.
This is not the first, nor will it be the last, change of director," Pavlov said and pointed out that the change will not lead to upheavals in the Burgas police.
When asked if Minister Ilkov trusts him, Pavlov replied: “After I move, there are obviously other views on the OD of the Burgas Ministry of the Interior, so I am obliged to comply with him”.
Pavlov denied the initial information that he was replaced due to poor results. “I am leaving the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas with the best results it has had in the last 10 years, and I am sure that whoever becomes director will continue to improve," said the former police director.
As of today, he holds a leadership position in the "Criminal Police" in the city.
