Manolova asks what electricity bills will look like from July 1st

Regulated electricity prices should be maintained, people cannot afford this price shock either

What will electricity bills look like from July 1st and how much will the price increase be? The three energy companies that are end suppliers (Electrohold, EVN Bulgaria Electricity Supply, Energo Pro Sales) will buy electricity for consumers from the exchange at high exchange prices. This was commented on by the chairwoman of Stand Up.BG Maya Manolova in her post on social networks. According to her, consumers should receive answers to a number of questions, such as:

1. At what prices will end suppliers sell electricity to household consumers?

2. To whom will the compensations declared by the Minister of Energy be paid - households or energy companies?

3. When will they be paid and in what amount, for the entire consumed quantity or for part of it?

4. Will there be a day and night tariff?

5. What will consumers' invoices look like from July 1, 2025?

6. On which price will household consumers pay VAT?

„However, it is clear that the price will increase by at least 7% - the surcharge already recorded in the Regulation on the Regulation of Electricity Prices, in favor of end-supplier companies“ – added Manolova.

It is puzzling why the EWRC and the Ministry of Energy have not complied with the Energy Law so far, since it obliges them until May 31, 2025. to conduct an explanatory campaign for the people, and it has not yet started.

We recall that since the beginning of the year the price of electricity has already jumped once by over 9% and only Izprav se.BG then asked the National Assembly to impose a moratorium and ban this price increase in the middle of the period. The civil platform prepared a draft of a moratorium, which was submitted to deputies, but was never considered.

„We insist that the regulated prices of electricity be maintained after July 1 - both because of the many unknowns and because of the impossibility of households to absorb another (repeated) price shock.“ – she was categorical.
