The largest opposition force in the National Assembly demands the resignation of its chairman. The reason for this is the decision to reject the president's request for a referendum to preserve the Bulgarian lev, the "Vazrazhdane" party states.
According to "Vazrazhdane", Natalia Kiselova once again not only shows incompetence and ignorance of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, but also serves the status quo with her decisions, which ignored the right of the Bulgarian people to express their opinion on this issue.

We recall that on May 9, the head of state submitted a proposal for a referendum with the question "Do you agree that Bulgaria should introduce the single European currency „euro“ in 2026?“"
Such a proposal would violate the Constitution, EU law and the Law on Direct Participation of Citizens. Therefore, I call on the head of state to reconsider his proposal. I also call on the parliament not to allow the consideration of such an unconstitutional proposal, said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
