Bulgaria ranks eighth in Europe in cars with manipulated odometers. The data is from a company that deals with computer diagnostics for cars. How can we check if the mileage on our car is real?
Between 30 and 50% of second-hand cars that enter our country have manipulated odometers, according to unofficial data.
Car expert Ivan Todorov said that in his work he sees people being lied to every day, bTV reports. He showed how not to fall into this trap.
According to him, the mileage is easily manipulated and many people offer this "service". Prices vary between 150 and 500 leva.
"Nowadays, even Tesla's mileage can be restored", said Todorov.
According to him, 70% of the cars on the market in our country have an overridden mileage. The most frequently overridden cars are those from 2005 to 2024.
"The biggest difference for me was 600,000 km. It said 230,000 km, but in reality it was 830,000 km. Two days ago, a 2022 Mercedes. "it was announced at 93,000 km, but it turned out to be 203,000 km," said Ivan Todorov.
He recommended that before we bought a car, it must undergo a complete diagnosis, as there may be other problems.
