A Slovak citizen got lost last night in the Rhodope Mountains and had to spend the night in his own tent in the mountains. This was reported to BTA by the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
The man called 112 last night shortly after 7:00 p.m. and said he was lost. Currently, a rescue service team in Chepelare is traveling to the man, who deviated from the marked trail, but was able to provide coordinates for where he is.
The conditions for tourism in the mountains today are poor, the MSS said. It is cloudy and raining, and above 1,700 meters - snow. In the high parts of the mountains, the snow cover reaches 4 cm, temperatures are negative.
