Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov stated that the government does not need a debate on the country's entry into the eurozone that would instill fear in people. According to him, inter-institutional skirmishes cannot lead to anything other than creating the feeling that we may once again enter an electoral spiral.

„As a government, we rely on inter-institutional partnership. We will not enter into a political debate, the time for which was in 1997. This debate has not found a different distortion even in 2020. It makes no sense at the moment when the nation should be confident that the introduction of the euro is only beneficial for the better competitiveness of our economy, for us to introduce a debate that actually manipulates people, instills fear in them and controls them”, the Prime Minister stated.
