“The deadline we have set ourselves, the end of June, will be met, so that the road between Botevgrad and Mezdra in the direction of Vidin can have better passability and to ease traffic on the I-3 road“, said the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov during an inspection of the section under construction. The inspection was attended by the Chairman of the Management Board of the “Road Infrastructure” Agency Eng. Yordan Valchev, Ventsislav Atanasov – member of the RIA Board of Directors and the head of the DNSK Lilyana Petrova.
The problems with landslides that have arisen are putting an additional burden on the repair activities in the section, but the RIA and DNSK are doing everything necessary, according to the requirements of the law and the rules, to qualitatively eliminate the problems that have arisen, the minister emphasized.
The progress that is visible is the result of a four-month effort, which will also be visible on other sections in the country, including the highways, said Ivan Ivanov.
Ensuring passability on the Mezdra - Botevgrad road will free up the bypass routes that are not adapted to the heavy traffic that now passes on them and repairs will also begin there, Minister Ivanov said again.
The Boaza - Dermantsi section of the “Hemus“ highway will be ready on time &ndquo; end of June, beginning of July. Once it is opened, it will be used for travel on the road in the direction of Dermantsi - Pleven, for which a major repair has been assigned in order to ensure safety for travelers and residents in the area. A bypass road to Dermantsi is also being built. Therefore, in order to preserve the lives and health of people, the launch of the first section of the highway will be delayed. The major repair of road III-305 Dermantsi - Pleven is planned to be completed around the end of August, after which traffic on the section of the "Hemus" highway can be launched. Regarding the financial situation, Minister Ivanov explained that there is currently nearly a billion leva to be paid, and a rhythm of payments to companies has been created.
The inspection was attended by the mayors of Vratsa - Kalin Kamenov, of Mezdra - Ivan Asparuhov, as well as the regional governor of Vratsa - Nikolay Nikolov.
