President Rumen Radev will visit Tryavna today for the opening of the National Slaveykov Holidays, which are held under the patronage of the head of state, the press secretariat of the head of state announced, quoted by BTA.
At 5:45 p.m. Radev will pay tribute to the monuments of father and son Slaveykov, and at 6:00 p.m. he will participate in the official opening of the Slaveykov Holidays, which will take place on the central square “Pencho Slaveykov“.
The program of events is dedicated to the spiritual heritage of Petko and Pencho Slaveykov and will bring together cultural, educational and spiritual figures. This year it began on June 19 and will continue until June 22, the Municipality of Tryavna announced.
The official opening will be on June 20, 2025 at the central square "Pencho Slaveykov" with the magic of Bulgarian folklore, presented by the dance ensemble "Tryavna", after which the solemn ceremony of opening this year's holidays will proceed with a welcoming speech by the Mayor of Tryavna Municipality Dencho Minev and the chamber choir "Eufonika", the organizers inform.
During the days of the National Slaveykov Holidays 2025, a meeting and conversation with heirs of the Slaveykov family will take place, a round table on the topic "Petko and Pencho Slaveykov – the others for them", a twinning between Tryavna and the Italian city of Brunate will be held. Guests of Tryavna will get acquainted with the work of local author Stoyan Tsonev.
A visiting exhibition "Magic and Magic in Bulgarian Culture" of the Regional Ethnographic Museum - Plovdiv will be opened in the "Kazakov" gallery, and later the second edition of a public reading of excerpts from the Bible will be held in the "Old School" museum.
The culmination of the third day of the Slaveykov holidays will be the premiere of a performance by the "Bulgare" ensemble.
On Sunday, as usual, the delicious culinary festival "Oka brano, delva sladko" will be held, which is in honor of the first culinary book published by Petko Slaveykov in our country. Students from the "Pencho Semov" PGT will once again cook according to Grandfather Slaveykov's recipes. - Gabrovo, led by the famous in the culinary industry Ivan Zvezdev.
