Since yesterday we have been witnessing the first season of the series "Peevski wants to become prime minister", commented the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" and MP from "We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev.

"Democratic Bulgaria" proposes that large chains publish the prices of basic products every day by law, Novini.bg reported.

In one of the key episodes of this first season, Rumen Specsov, after kissing Peevski's ring, becomes his advertising agent and begins to explain how prices have skyrocketed so that Peevski can come out next week with the savior's cloak and say - now in my stores for the people we will solve the price problem. This is a scenario that is being implemented by Peevski and in which Boyko Borisov stands on the sidelines, watches and cannot do anything, because he did not even know that such a thing had been started. This is happening, that is why there is this alleged price increase, which does not actually exist, Mirchev added.

Yesterday, Rumen Specsov came out and showed how not to do it - he threw some flying numbers on the air and scared people, made the suggestion that prices are rising in general. We believe that this is not how it is done and that the only way for prices not to rise is competition. That is why today we are introducing a bill that obliges all large chains to publish the prices of basic products every day. In this way, people will really know what has risen and what has not, they will be able to compare and we will all know the real data and we will not rely on some representative of the authorities to come out and tell a bottle of water in a chain how much it has risen, Bozhidar Bozhanov, co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" and deputy chairman of the PG of "We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria", told journalists on the sidelines of the parliament.

We propose that by the middle of next year this data be published every day both on the websites of the traders and sent to the Ministry of Economy, which will summarize it and provide it to citizens, who can also do this analysis. In this way, any speculators will be pointed out in a second, he added.

The MP from "Continuing Change-Democratic Bulgaria" Martin Dimitrov explained that the legal changes will be enshrined in the Consumer Protection Act.

This measure was introduced in Croatia after Croatia made similar mistakes as those in Bulgaria with limiting markups, price ceilings, state-owned stores – all these left-wing measures will raise prices, including state-owned stores. We need more competition with transparency – this is the strongest medicine. Currently, there is no such database where you can see how much yogurt, bread, yellow cheese cost, is there a promotion, is there not. The moment a national database is created and everyone can see how much all basic products cost in a given chain, this leads to strong competition. This is the only competition that prices will increase more slowly or not at all. This solution has been implemented in Croatia with great success, we should implement it in Bulgaria, Dimitrov pointed out.
