Undeclared 200,000 euros found at the Kapitan Andreevo MP

Undeclared nearly 200,000 euros were found by customs officers during inspections of two trucks leaving the country.
In one of the cases, on June 18, 2025, a semi-trailer with a Turkish registration arrived at the Kapitan Andreevo MP, traveling from the Netherlands via Bulgaria to Turkey. The truck was selected for a thorough customs inspection, during which, in a factory cavity above the driver's door after dismantling part of the wall upholstery, euro banknotes were found. The total amount of currency found was 100,000 euros with a leva equivalent of 195,583 leva.

Just a day before that, on June 17, 2025 In another truck with Turkish registration, again traveling from the Netherlands to Turkey, four packages with 99,980 euros, with a leva equivalent of 195,543 leva, were found. The packages with the euro banknotes were hidden in the driver's cabin behind a cabinet for storing personal belongings.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the cases by investigating customs inspectors under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office - Haskovo-Territorial Department - Svilengrad.
