Alexander Dzhartov - Director of the General Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection“ and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Toni Todorov gave a briefing on the fire near Opitsvet.
The fire above the Kostinbrod village of Opitsvet flared up again and threatened a pumping station and a children's oncology center. The fire was meters from the oncology center.
"Due to strong winds, we have a resumption of fire in three places along the fire front. One of them has been localized. There is no danger to the children's oncology dispensary and the settlements. Currently, our efforts are focused on the other two fronts, which are more difficult to reach, but teams with high-pass vehicles are being directed," said Alexander Dzhartov, director of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection.
It is still unclear where the fire started.
"Things are under control for the moment. Colleagues are ready to respond to an outbreak," said Toni Todorov.
