The prosecutor's office presented new evidence in the case of the 8-year-old child who died while parasailing in Nessebar.
During the hearing of the Burgas Court of Appeal, which must finally determine the measures for the detention of the three detainees after the incident, witness interviews and company documents were attached to the case, including the control card of the boat that towed the parachute from which 8-year-old Ivan fell, as well as the instruction and safety books, BTA writes.
"I have been working in this company for seven or eight years and so far we have not had any problems with the equipment. When the captain says – you need to tie a new rope, it is bought. When he says – "You need a new parachute, it's bought the next day," the boat captain Hristo Raev told journalists.
He is one of the three defendants who was released from custody on bail of 5,000 leva.
According to Raev, the attraction did not work for two or three weeks this summer, as it was considered dangerous for customers.
He also said that the belts used for parasailing are changed regularly, but he himself is not committed to tying them to customers.
"I just saw the child fall. From there on, our goal was to save the mother," he said.
At this stage, the person in charge of the attraction, Petko Stefanov, and the sailor Kamen Tenev are also accused in the case of the incident, and they are appealing their permanent arrest and asking for a lighter measure.
Hristo Raev himself is also appealing his bail. Before the appellate magistrates, he is demanding a reduction in its amount or a lighter measure.
