The necessary signatures for submitting a new vote of no confidence in the government will be collected. This was said tonight in Varna by the leader of “We Continue the Change“ Assen Vassilev, who joined another protest against the detention of the city's mayor Blagomir Kotsev in custody, BTA reports.

Vassilev indicated that talks are still underway on what the specific topic of the request for the resignation of the cabinet will be. In his words, it could be all the “outrages that are happening and the fact that the country is de facto not governed by the Council of Ministers (CM)“. The Prime Minister does not even know where his ministers are, the country is run by Borisov and Peevski, who have taken over both the Cabinet and absolutely all institutions, said Vassilev. He pointed out that currently incomes are frozen, and prices are rising - for electricity, water, vignettes, toll fees, even household electrical appliances. The poverty line has risen by 20 percent, we again have 1.4 million people who will have to choose between bread and medicine at the end of the month, added Vassilev. According to him, the number of these people has been drastically reduced over the past three years. “In 2022, we were left with less than 100,000 people below the poverty line, now we are back to 1.4 million“, said Vassilev.

The patience of all Bulgarians is running out with the circuses that are projected to us every day to cover up their thefts, the leader of “Continue the change“ also said. He recalled that today GERB, “There is such a people“, BSP and “DPS - New beginning“ have rejected the president's veto on the law on the sale of state properties. “They hid the list of properties, they hid the auctions, now they have rejected the veto and nothing is stopping them from starting to sell off. Regardless of what they say on television, they do something else in parliament," Vassilev pointed out.

Regarding the arrest of the mayor of Varna, he said that what is happening in the case is "absolute lawlessness." Vassilev recalled that more than a week ago, a request was submitted to the prosecutor's office to change the measure for the detained mayor, which, however, has not yet reached the court. The prosecutor's office is justifying itself by saying that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) did not give them the documents in the case, Vassilev explained. He was categorical that if the state prosecution does not fulfill its legal obligations by the end of this week, he and his colleagues will go to the ACC, take the documents and take them to the prosecutor's office and from there to the court.
