The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has canceled its recommendation to citizens to refrain from traveling to Hungary, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.

„In connection with the end of the Hungarian election campaign for yesterday's vote, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cancels its recommendation to citizens to avoid traveling to Hungary. This campaign, which was unfortunately filled with manipulations regarding Ukraine, is now behind us. Accordingly, the danger of provocations that led to these restrictions is no longer present," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga said on Facebook.

After 16 years as prime minister, Viktor Orbán will hand over power after his Fidesz party was defeated by Péter Magyar's TISA.

Szybiga added that the ministry now expects the election results to lead to the normalization of relations between Ukraine and Hungary, and that Kiev is ready to work towards achieving this goal.

“The choice of the Hungarian people demonstrates their desire to live in peace, security and prosperity - to live in a truly independent Hungary that is part of a united and free Europe, and not in Moscow's zone of influence. The Hungarians' choice also marks the defeat of the policies of blackmail and anti-Ukrainian propaganda," he added.

According to Szibiga, careful and pragmatic work is ahead to find a common language, restore mutual respect and implement common interests. "We will work to restore good neighborly relations in the interests of both our countries and Europe as a whole," the foreign minister emphasized.
