75-year-old driver survives 300 mph crash (VIDEO) - 1

Drag racing legend John Force has survived a horrific crash at a PlayNHRA event in Virginia, USA. Force was heading toward the finish line at over 300 mph when his car's engine blew. The 75-year-old driver won the first round, but this time he was sent to a local hospital.

As you can see in the video, a few seconds after the start, the rear of the car suddenly explodes and the car shakes violently. It takes off on the adjacent track, where the opposing car is located, then crashes into the concrete fence.

Reporters say John Force was conscious and talking to NHRA Safety Safari staff immediately after the crash. He was transported to the nearest medical center for further examination in intensive care. The team did not describe the extent of his injuries.

The footage of this crash is incredible. The so-called funny car suffers a catastrophic engine failure, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. After the impact, some parts of the car flew onto the track, but most remained on it, although the car now looks like a pile of scrap metal. Only the protective frame remains intact.

Fors is now 75 years old, but he does not want to retire. This is not the first time Force has survived a serious accident. In 2018, he was hospitalized after an accident at the Nationals in Arizona. He also won two of the first eight races of the season and is currently second in the NHRA Funny Car standings. See also the video.
