The Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev held a series of high-level strategic meetings with the Ministers of Tourism from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and the Secretary General of the Departmental Council of Kuwait within the framework of the World Tourism Exhibition WTM in London. The emphasis of the meetings was placed on the development of air connectivity, joint marketing initiatives and attracting high-paying tourists to our country through spa, wellness, golf and winter tourism.

In the framework of the bilateral meeting with the Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar, Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji proposed the establishment of a direct charter route Doha-Varna operated by Qatar Airways. The Qatari minister confirmed the interest in Bulgaria as a spa and wellness destination and suggested that business representatives from Qatar visit Bulgaria as early as next month to explore the possibilities. An agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries is also to be signed.

During his meeting with Fatima Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism of Bahrain, Minister Miloshev suggested organizing a business forum in Bulgaria to bring together tourism operators from both countries to discuss opportunities for mutual promotion of tourism products.

The Secretary General of the National Council for Culture and the Arts of Kuwait, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar stressed that better air connectivity with Bulgaria is needed to facilitate the travel of tourists and business delegations. Sheikha Al-Onud Ibrahim Al-Sabah, director of “Communications” also took part in the meeting. to the Council and a plan was made for cooperation between tour operators and airlines from the two countries to develop routes and travel packages supporting the development of new routes. Earlier this year, in July, the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria organized a one-week familiarization tour in our country for journalists and influencers from Kuwait.

The meetings of Minister Miloshev at WTM London confirmed the growing interest in Bulgaria on the part of the countries of the Middle East. The four-season possibilities for tourism, as well as the focus on spa, wellness, winter and golf destinations, make Bulgaria attractive for tourists from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. Through active partnerships, direct flights and marketing initiatives, Bulgaria is establishing itself as a preferred destination for tourists looking for new cultural experiences and a high standard of service.
