Restricting the movement of trucks over 12 tons on part of the Trakia Motorway - 1

Restricting the movement of trucks over 12 tons from 14:00 to 19:00 in the lane in the direction of Sofia in the section from Stara Zagora to Sofia on the Trakia Motorway - from 208th km to km 0, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced, quoted by dariknews.bg.

The ban does not apply to road vehicles that provide public transportation of passengers, motor vehicles that transport dangerous goods (ADR) for refueling gas stations in the prohibited section and roadside assistance with specialized equipment for repatriating all types of vehicles.

Buses that are in the category of motor vehicles over 12 tons will not be restricted and will pass along the highway. On the “Hemus“ highway in the section between the village of Yana and the entrance to Sofia - from km 0 to km 8, in which repairs to the lane towards the capital began on September 15, a temporary change in the organization of traffic is also being introduced, with the aim of safer movement of citizens.

On Friday - September 26, from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM and on Saturday - September 27, two lanes will be set up for traffic in the direction of Varna. Traffic in the direction of Sofia will be redirected from the “Yana“ junction along road I-1 through Gorni and Dolni Bogrov to the capital.

From 1:00 PM on Saturday - September 27, until 12:00 PM on Sunday - September 28, vehicles will pass in both directions in the lane to Varna, in which one lane will be separated in each direction.

From 12:00 on Sunday - September 28, until 12:00 on Monday - September 29, there will be two lanes for traffic in the direction of Sofia on the "Hemus" Motorway in the section from the "Yana" junction to the capital.

Traffic to Varna will be redirected along the I-1 road from Sofia through Dolni and Gorni Bogrov to the "Yana" junction, from where it will continue along the highway. Due to the intensity of traffic at the end of the working week until the completion of the major repairs of the section from Yana station to Sofia, it is planned to introduce the same traffic organization every weekend. The estimated deadline for completing the repairs in the Sofia lane is October 31.

The introduction of the change in the traffic organization on the two highways has been coordinated with the Ministry of Interior, as at their discretion, additional actions may be taken to facilitate traffic and increase the permeability of vehicles.

Drivers are urged to drive carefully and at a reasonable speed, to comply with traffic rules and not to undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other travelers.

Do not use emergency lanes on highways for faster movement in heavy traffic, as this prevents the passage of vehicles with a special traffic regime in the event of an accident. The emergency lane may only be used in sections with a temporary traffic safety organization in place.

All citizens and transport companies can receive information about the current traffic situation from the API website - www.api.bg, as well as at any time of the day by calling 0700/ 130-20.
