The chairman of "We Continue the Change" Assen Vassilev presented the new Executive Council of the party, elected at the General Assembly of the formation. He said that the Executive Council has been almost completely renewed. Out of a total of 13 members, there are three members from the previous Executive Council and 10 new additions. It is an extraordinary honor for me to work with these people, because they give their heart and soul to Bulgaria, Vassilev said at a briefing.

The newly elected Executive Council includes former Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, the arrested mayor of Varna Blagomir Kotsev and the mayor of Blagoevgrad Metodi Baykushev. Its members also include Vasil Pandov, Mihal Kambarev, Stoyu Stoev, Ivaylo Shotev, Bogdan Bogdanov, Venko Sabrutev, Vyara Todeva, Toni Stoycheva and Tatyana Sultanova, BTA listed.

Kiril Petkov will be on the National Council of “We Continue Change“, the election of this party body is currently underway, said Assen Vassilev in response to a question. He said that Lena Borislavova is also a candidate for a member of the National Council of the party and assumed that she will also be elected.

Earlier today, Assen Vassilev was unanimously elected chairman of “We Continue Change“. Today is the second final day of the formation's General Assembly for the election of governing bodies.

Assen Vassilev said that there was no other candidate for the chairmanship besides him. He announced that the party's Statute stipulates that there will be a deputy chairman of the party, nominated by the members of the Executive Council and approved by the National Council upon the proposal of the chairman. Vassilev pointed out that an independent body is being created in the party - an Ethics Commission, which can investigate signals and take appropriate action.

Next to the members of the newly elected Executive Council of "We Continue the Change" there was a reserved seat for the arrested mayor of Varna and an inscription "Blago Kotsev should have been sitting here". Assen Vassilev commented that the prosecutor's office has not found anything and is holding Blago Kotsev and the other political prisoners absolutely without reason. And it's not just us who are saying this, Europe is already saying this, to the extent that Bulgarian taxpayers' money is currently being stopped. The money from Europe is being stopped because the Bulgarian government allows itself to hold political prisoners, said the leader of "We Continue the Change".

In response to a question about the vote of no confidence in the Council of Ministers, which "Vazrazhdane" wants to submit, but they do not have enough signatures, Asen Vassilev said that "We Continue the Change" will support the vote of no confidence related to the water shortage in the plenary hall. In the National Council, we have a decision to support in the plenary hall, now we will have a new National Council, which will be elected today, it will meet and decide whether we would also provide signatures for its submission, added Vassilev.

Yesterday we also adopted the platform of "We Continue the Change", which gives us the opportunity to focus on five main areas – competitive business, young families and incomes, education and healthcare, and, last but not least - justice and freedom, said Vassilev. In his words, this is the direction we must set, when Bulgaria is already in Schengen and the eurozone from January 1, 2026.

“We continue the change“ sets a clear course towards the heart of Europe for a free, rich, prosperous Bulgaria, where we are proud of our past, happy in the present and calm for the future, said Assen Vassilev.
