The fate of the farm building behind 73 SU, in which a fire is burning tonight, will be decided in the coming days and weeks.
This was said by the mayor of the "Triaditsa" district, Dimitar Bozhilov, in connection with the incident in the "Gotse Delchev" neighborhood, where the body of a 45-year-old man was discovered.
The mayor specified that the deceased man led a vagrant lifestyle.
"The facility is in extremely poor condition. The structure is lightweight and is mainly metal. According to publicly available registers, the warehouse is in a co-ownership regime, there is no municipal participation. The land is state-owned. Over the years, there have been signals of poor management, and the municipality has responded with regulations," said Bozhilov, quoted by BGNES.
Experts will assess the condition of the building. Depending on the results, it will be decided whether it is subject to demolition.
"We are following the case carefully, as well as the potential possibility of investment intentions, given the designation of the UPI - for a restaurant and residential construction," added Mayor Bozhilov in a post on the social network.
BGNES recalls that the incident occurred 30 minutes after midnight. Six fire crews responded to the signal of a fire in an abandoned warehouse near the 73rd secondary school “Vladislav Gramatik“.
