Kostadin Kostadinov FACTS: BNB will remain a meaningless institution after January 1, 2026 (VIDEO) - 1

In the last month, "Vazrazhdane" held a series of tours of the country. We visited over 1,500 settlements, and the meetings brought together over 20,000 people. This is nearly a third of the settlements in Bulgaria. The main mood among the people is strong distrust of the country's entry into the eurozone, and at times - open hostility. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the studio "FACTS" and the program "Conversation" Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of the party "Vazrazhdane".

„In addition to skepticism towards the euro, a deeper anxiety is clearly felt at the meetings – lack of faith in Bulgaria's future. People believe en masse that the country is doomed. The clearest expression of this dissatisfaction was the protest in Sofia, where there were about 50,000 people from all over the country. This was a categorical signal to the authorities that Bulgarians do not accept joining the eurozone without a clear debate and evidence of the benefits“, added Kostadinov.

“Our MP Stanislav Stoyanov appealed to the European Court of Justice the process of Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone. The reason - because the mandatory data on inflation and economic consequences are missing. By law, the Bulgarian National Bank and the Ministry of Finance must prepare reports on the benefits and risks. Two years ago, we requested similar information from “Vazrazhdane“. The draft of the BNB report was “devastating“ for the euro and the country's prospects for introducing the euro. If Bulgaria joins the eurozone, from January 1, the BNB will practically have no functions. The BNB will become a redundant institution“, the guest also said.

“The reaction of the Governor of the BNB Dimitar Radev further caused outrage because he said that it did not matter what was written in the analysis of the central bank, but what was important was what the Ministry of Finance indicated. This is in complete contradiction with the role of an independent institution. In Greece, the central bank also hid the real data, and the subsequent severe crisis in 2008-2009 affected not only the country, but also the whole of Europe. What everyone knew then, but hid, led to a catastrophe. Bulgaria must not repeat this mistake“, Kostadinov also said.
