The company „Toplofikatsiya Sofia“ EAD should become state-owned on the principle of debt for property, proposed the deputy chairman of VMRO and municipal councilor in the Sofia Municipal Council Carlos Contrera during yesterday's extraordinary session of the Sofia Municipal Council, which dealt with the problems and accumulated debts of the district heating company. According to Contrera, a public-private partnership and a concession are not a solution to the problem with the accumulated debts of „Toplofikatsiya Sofia“ EAD.
In his speech, the VMRO councilor called „Bulgargaz“ a usurious company that legally drains „Toplofikatsiya Sofia“. "Toplofikatsiya" has become a piggy bank for "Bulgargaz", he pointed out.
How long will "Bulgargaz" continue to issue invoices and declare "Toplofikatsiya" overdue debts, charging interest even in cases where the natural gas has not yet been needed?, he asked.
Currently, the Sofia Municipal Council is acting as a registrar of problems, and not working to solve them!, Contrera is categorical.
