An organization is being created for the collection of garbage in the metropolitan areas of "Lyulin" and "Krasno Selo". This was stated in "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" by the mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev. The case with the garbage collection there arose after the mayor refused to sign a contract with the company that won the public procurement because of high prices.
"We will mobilize and we will manage. I am not inclined to sign a contract for cleaning at a price of 420 leva. Currently, these areas are cleaned at a price of 144 leva, the estimated price that we have set in the procurement is 200. The offer of the foreign participant is within these limits, even below that. In this case, there are companies that have decided that they can achieve double the price on our backs and I am not inclined to continue like this".
When asked if he was subjected to blackmail, Terziev replied: "Absolutely - this is an attempt to be robbed. You can see cartelization, and we tried to create conditions for a very fair procedure. We brought in international companies. One company's trucks were set on fire, the other quickly realized that they had made a mistake in giving it the license and took it away. And one of the Bulgarian companies, for some reason, chose not to participate and not to open its price offer for the only position for which it was a candidate".
According to him, the "polluter pays" measure is also about to come into force, which in itself will increase the garbage fee for households by two to five times. When this garbage collection contract is signed, the price will become even higher, he explained he.
Currently, the only problem zone is the sixth - it includes "Lyulin" and "Krasno Selo". Terziev explained that the municipal company "Sofekostroy" has refused to carry out the cleaning work - but he cannot do anything because the municipal companies are not under the control of the mayor, but of the municipal council.
"I have not stopped being a hostage to interests, but I appeal to the citizens to go through these moments of inconvenience together and not to succumb to extortion. We see who is behind the extortion, the people with the nicknames. The garbage is a turning point - if we say here that it is acceptable to load us with two because someone wants to take the upper house, this will be our everyday life for absolutely everything. This is a "corruption" fee and at least in Sofia we will fight it and we will not we give in".
Regarding Delyan Peevski's criticism that he "robs the municipality", Vasil Terziev stated:
"Exactly the gentleman who has bankrupted everything he has touched - "D for bankruptcy", I don't think it is appropriate to talk about who is robbing what, because he is the biggest robber in the state and it is extremely incorrect to moralize who defended the interests of the people. By defending the interests of the people, to give up the security, which costs as much as a kindergarten. I walk the streets, unlike him".
Sofia has not yet been taken and this is not Terziev's battle, but the battle of every free Sofian - to take care of his better future so that his children can stay here, he stated the mayor.
He confirmed that he had approved sending a signal via BG-ALERT due to the snow that fell on Vitosha yesterday, but there were gaps in the communication chain:
"It was a good opportunity to reassess how it works, in what situations to use it. There were indeed problems on the road to Vitosha, fallen trees. I apologize if we have created discomfort, from now on it will work even better. Our goal is to actively communicate with citizens and warn them, not to act accordingly".
There has been no comment on Vasil Terziev being a candidate for president of the right wing. He thanked his colleagues from PP-DB for their trust, but said that he is interested in urban problems.
