No pre-trial proceedings have been initiated on the report of alleged violation of the electoral rights of citizens in the Pazardzhik village of Ognyanovo, the spokesperson for the Regional Directorate (RD) of the Ministry of Interior in Pazardzhik, Miroslav Stoyanov, announced at a briefing, quoted by BTA.

Before noon, a signal was received via the 112 telephone number that a group of citizens had noticed two cars in the settlement. According to them, the cars were "suspicious", and the passengers in them were engaged in vote-buying in the Roma neighborhood of the village. When trying to stop the cars, two men fled, but were later found and detained for questioning.

Miroslav Stoyanov specified that the work on the overall clarification of the case continues, and police officers are working with the five citizens who were traveling in the two cars. Personal searches and inspections of the cars were carried out under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Act, for which protocols have been drawn up. Nothing was found in the cars that would point to vote buying, Stoyanov pointed out. There is no reason to detain the individuals and after taking their explanations, they will be released, the police spokesman added.

Stoyanov also said that on today's election day, the regional directorate received about 30 reports of public order violations, most of which were related to the incident in the village of Ognyanovo. A total of 220 police officers are engaged in ensuring order and the peaceful conduct of the vote for a new municipal council in Pazardzhik.
