Anton Kutev: GERB has no interest in remaining in this majority because it is losing purely electoral weight - 1

It was known that there would be a shake-up in the government. It was clear that there would be discomfort. This is no secret for Borisov and Peevski. Yesterday I saw a well-played theater by Borisov. The things they set as a task at the beginning of the mandate - Peevski to officially participate in the majority, and Borisov to be prime minister, in my opinion are possible. In my opinion, they will be understood. This was stated to bTV by Anton Kutev, former spokesman for the caretaker governments of Stefan Yanev and Galab Donev and former MP from the Bulgarian Socialist Party, quoted by novini.bg.

GERB has no interest in remaining in this majority because it is losing purely electoral weight. Borisov's main opponent in power is Peevski. He has a typical Borisov mindset that if he were prime minister, and not Rosen Zhelyazkov, the balance of power vis-à-vis Peevski would be different“, Kutev believes.

He is convinced that nothing terrible or unexpected happened in Pazardzhik.

“Kiselova will be replaced, because in these turbulent times the probability of forming a caretaker government is becoming greater. She is a risk factor for Borisov and Peevski, because the president can make her the acting prime minister“, Kutev also commented.

He has no doubt that GERB is still the largest party: “If we exempt GERB from the corporate vote, however, they have no more than 5-6%. The battle is about who will manage the invisible levers of power – who will hold the mayors, who will hold the dark forces through the prosecutor's office and the investigation. That is why there are battles for Sofia and Varna.“

He believes that the BSP leadership knows that the party will not enter parliament in the next elections.

Regarding the possibility that President Rumen Radev may create his own party after the end of his mandate, Kutev said: “Anyone who announces a party in Radev's name will be wrong. He makes the decisions himself, even two or three people closest to him won't know. He will very quickly form a party, as long as he decides to run. He doesn't need structures in the country, because he doesn't rely on them.“
