Deputies to discuss changes to the Health Insurance Act at first reading  - 1

The parliament is to discuss changes to the Health Insurance Act at first reading, the draft program of the National Assembly for this week provides, reports BTA. The amendments were submitted by the Council of Ministers (CM) and are the first item on the proposed agenda.

The draft changes to the Health Insurance Act propose changes in two directions – implementation of requirements for regulatory changes related to the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and creation of an ordinance by which representatives of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals will be invited by the Bulgarian Medical Union during the negotiations for the conclusion of a National Framework Agreement, said Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov, who presented the proposals for amendments at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on health last week.

The draft program of the parliament for this week also provides for the deputies to consider at first reading amendments to the Law on the Protection of Persons Endangered in Connection with Criminal Proceedings and the Law on Consumer Protection. The proposed agenda also includes the first reading of amendments to the Law on Public Enterprises, submitted by Anna Alexandrova (GERB-SDF) and a group of MPs.

The first item on Thursday is planned to be the procedural rules on the terms and order for proposing candidates for director general of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency and the procedure for election by the National Assembly. After that, the deputies are expected to consider amendments to the Law on Defense and Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria on second reading.

The proposed agenda also includes ratifications of international documents to which Bulgaria is a party.

The first item for Friday is the Program for the Exercise of Rights on State-Owned Properties and on Properties – owned by State and Public Enterprises, adopted by Decision No. 289 of the Council of Ministers of 2025. Regular parliamentary control is then planned.
