The appointment of Raya Nazaryan as Speaker of the National Assembly is a clear signal for preparations for early elections. This was said in “From the Day“ on BNT by Nikolay Denkov from PP-DB.
Former Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov commented on the reshuffle in the National Assembly and the election of Raya Nazaryan as Speaker of the Parliament as follows:
“I don't think anything particularly important happened. The purpose of this move was, on the one hand, to appoint a person who is much closer to both Borisov and Peevski, so that he would carry out what was said. Raya Nazaryan has experience in this regard. On the other hand, this is preparing us for some early elections, because it was obvious that Kiselova is not an option for an acting prime minister. If we are looking for practical dimensions - these are them. If we are looking for others, they are that obviously after Borisov's theatrical performances last week, something had to happen - and it did“, said Nikolay Denkov from PP-DB.
According to Nikolay Denkov, the change in the leadership of the parliament does not lead to a significant change in the government.
“Despite all the talk, the only real change is that Raya Nazaryan is the new Speaker of the National Assembly. Preparations for the budget began only a few days ago, and currently changes are being made at the last minute - as today with the NHIF budget and the funds intended for the salaries of young doctors. This shows significant delays and violations of the rules in important decisions,“ he pointed out.
Denkov added that the current government continues the familiar pattern:
„We know more of the same, but slightly disguised. „Ilia looked around, again in these“, as we say in the proverb“, commented Nikolay Denkov.
Denkov also criticized the parameters of the draft budget, which envisages an increase in social security contributions by 2%, freezing of maternity and social payments, as well as disproportionately high costs for certain sectors such as the justice system.
„This literally means that for each worker, 600 leva from employees and 600 leva from the employer, will go into this piggy bank per year, which we call "piggy bank", in which the money is then not controlled well enough. While at the same time we have frozen maternity benefits, frozen benefits", he commented.
The former prime minister noted that the social service measures proposed by the PP-DB, which would support, for example, families and would not burden the budget, have not been implemented. According to him, there is a lack of financial planning in key areas, and those in power are responsible for spending and financial policy.
Former prime minister Nikolay Denkov commented to BNT on the situation surrounding the “Lukoil“ refinery and the necessary actions by the state to guarantee stable fuel supplies.
“There is a right move in the state and it is indeed very important that it has at least started the activities that are key. I say this because we already have the experience from other countries. What has already been heard in the media is that Germany has received a derogation from the states regarding the refineries related to “Lukoil“ and “Rosneft”. "What was not made clear and should be made clear is that she is receiving this derogation not because someone likes the Germans very much, but because they did something very important in advance, namely appointing a special administrator," Denkov commented.
